Stay at home: Keep busy this Easter Weekend with 5 Garden activities the whole family will love.4/3/2020 ![]() Do you have a garden? The Easter weekend is a slightly different one this year with us ‘staying at home’, but don’t let that stop you from having fun in the garden! Here are 5 things you can do in the garden with your family to make the most of the warm weather: 1. Garden Easter egg hunt If you have young children or just want to have fun as a couple, hide chocolate eggs in the garden for others to find. Make sure you remember where you’ve hidden them, as you don't want them to melt! Come up with some great places to hide your Easter eggs and indulge in the treat once found. 2. Garden Sports games Staying active and healthy whilst at home is very important. Sports games in the Garden is a great way to keep fit. Some ideas include: Badminton or tennis, football, catch, Bowls or bowling, Twister and Paddling pool aerobics. There are lots more fun games you can play in the garden, if you come up with any more let us know on our social media. 3. Gardening
This is a popular hobby for many and particularly worthwhile during warm weather. You could mow your lawn, tend to your flowerbeds, plant new flowers and get the kids involve making this activity enjoyable for the entire family. 4. Garden bug hunt Show your kids what bugs to look for, to see what they can find. Remember, if your kids do catch any to put them back where they found them. If you and your kids are feeling adventurous you could build a bug den or a butterfly feeder for example. The children could finish by drawing the bugs they have found after this activity. 5. Garden picnic Set up a picnic in the garden, with young kids you can make this a fun teddy bear’s picnic if you like! Lay out a full picnic (sandwiches, fruits, sausage rolls, chicken drumsticks - consider a variety to suite your requirements) for the whole family to enjoy and then once you’ve finished you can make a day of it and enjoy some other garden activities earlier mentioned. We hope you have a nice bank holiday weekend, and remember stay home, protect the NHS and save lives.
